Angelina Jolie’s New Film

Just a few short hours ago Cambodian Productions was contacted by an American producer (who we will call Mr X) who is working on a feature film in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Mr X asked what services we provided international clients who are filming in Cambodia. Upon listing the extensive list of services we provided (permits, crew, logistics, equipment etc) Mr X mentioned the specifics of what he was looking for, local crew to help on his Cambodian based film shoot. Cambodian Productions happily assisted in the enquiry and passed on the contact details of the relevant crew that Mr X was looking for. Before the conversation came to an end Cambodian Productions enquired what the name of the film was that he was working on, Mr X replied “Have you heard about Angelina Jolie’s new film?”. The Digital Narratives of Asia Series Film with Cambodian Productions

In May 2015, Cambodian Productions was contacted by representatives of the Singapore Management University who wanted to film in Cambodia. The Digital Narratives of Asia (DNA) is an online web series which features interviews with societal leaders who have shaped and contributed towards the collective history of South East Asia. The production manager for DNA, Sabrina Chua, was interested in shooting an interview in Cambodia with Pung Chhiv Kek who is the founder and president of the Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defence of Human Rights. DNA had already set a date to shoot the interview which would see the Singaporean crew arrive in Cambodia in less than two weeks time. Despite this relatively short notice Cambodian Productions were able to organize all the necessary paper work, including the General Filming Permission with the Ministry of Information, to ensure that the shoot would go smoothly when the crew arrived. In addition to completing the paper work Cambodian Productions also hired a local crew (fixer, camera man and sound operator) as well as all the necessary technical equipment (lighting, sound and camera) to help complete the shoot. The DNA shoot is a perfect example of how quickly and efficiently Cambodian Productions can organize a shoot in the Kingdom of Wonder. Film Permissions and Location Permits in Cambodia

Film Permissions and Location Permits in Cambodia

When filming in Cambodia the permissions and permits are the most important part of your shoot and should be at the top of your list during pre-production. Before you even start thinking about what local crew you want to hire, which accommodation you would like to stay at or what kind of lights would suit your shoot you need to start getting the necessary paper work completed for your production. Not getting the proper paper work completed can mean the difference between a smooth, trouble free production and a shoot which is plagued with problems and hassle from the local authorities. Depending what you are doing on the ground and where you want your production to be based will dictate the exact permissions and permits you need for your shoot. It is possible to complete the paper work yourself through the local authorities but this requires a lot of care and attention to ensure that it’s done properly, if there are any issue with the information given then it could potentially cause a delay in getting the permits and permissions in time. Cambodian Productions has close ties with the local authorities and we can complete the paper work on behalf of your production quickly and efficiently, and our experience ensures that you have the correct paper work for your specific shoot. All we need to know is what the content of your proposed production is, where you intend filming and the date you commence, then we can proceed with applying for the relevant paper work on behalf of your production. The two main pieces of paper work which you...
